Calculation version: personal@1.0.0. The calculation runs in your browser: we don't send or store the amounts you enter. We only count, without identifying you, that the tool has been used.
How to use it
- 1Enter the price, what you expect to get when you sell it and the years you'll keep it.
- 2Enter the kilometres per year, consumption and the fuel or electricity price.
- 3Add insurance, maintenance, taxes, parking and, if you finance it, the share financed and the rate.
How it calculates
- Depreciation = price − resale value.
- Energy = km per year × years × consumption / 100 × price.
- Interest: a constant-payment loan (French system) over the same ownership period.
- Cost per km = total cost / km driven.
Verifiable example
A €22,000 car sold for €9,000 after 7 years, with 15,000 km a year, 6 l/100 km at €1.55/l, €550 of insurance, €450 of maintenance and €120 of taxes a year costs €30,605 in total: €364.35 a month or €0.291 per kilometre.
Limitations
- The future resale value is your estimate.
- It doesn't include fines, accidents or price rises.
- For electric cars, use kWh/100 km and the price of your charging.
